You can expect beautiful nature with numerous turquoise-blue dream bays and beaches. In the bright sunlight, the crystal-clear sea water framing the island is perfectly visible and invites you to dip.

But that’s not all. The island is also home to numerous typical Australian animal species. You will come across Australia’s favourite national animals, the koala and the kangaroo. However, lesser-known animals, such as the short-beaked echidna or the rare platypus, also inhabit Kangaroo Island.

In one of Australia’s most beautiful national parks – Flinders Chase National Park – you will also be able to observe New Zealand fur seals up close. Australian sea lions are also at home there. The purest animal paradise!

This beautiful island is one of my favorite places in Australia, so I highly recommend you visit this top attraction on a road trip from Melbourne to Adelaide! It’s also a great excursion if you’re visiting the city of Adelaide and are interested in the sights in this region.

Grampians National Park

Grampians National Park

On this trip, the Grampians National Park offers a change from the beautiful coastal landscape. It is inland and provides an ‘adventure feeling’ with exciting views and great hikes.

These lead through gorges, for example on the hike to the Pinnacle over the Grand Canyon. It leads you through a fascinating rocky landscape, past delicate waterfalls, and up to a spectacular viewing rock. From here, you can overlook a large part of the fantastic national park.

The MacKenzie Falls are also a very popular attraction. The multi-leveled waterfall plunges into a natural rock pool and is a wonderful photo opportunity.
