Reeds Lookout & The Balconies offer stunning views
Reeds Lookout provides panoramic views of Lake Wartook, Victoria Valley, and Mount Difficult Range.
After enjoying a hike along a shaded path through gum trees and fascinating rock formations, you will reach The Balconies. This spot offers majestic views and scenery, including the famous ‘Jaws of Death’ featured in the Japanese Animation’ Princess Mononoke’.
Hiking to Mackenzie Falls
Victoria Valley is home to a highly renowned waterfall, where visitors can hike to the base, witness the impressive volume of water, and experience the refreshing spray in the air.
The hike consists of approximately 250 steps to the base and back. There is also an option for a more relaxed walk over the top of the falls.
If Mackenzie Falls were closed, this stop would be replaced by a peaceful hike to Silverband Falls.

Kangaroo and Wildlife Spotting
In the town of Halls Gap, an abundance of kangaroos can be seen in the evenings, grazing on the grass. As a result, residents do not need to own lawnmowers.
You will probably observe various Australian bird species, including kookaburras and emus. Still, it is guaranteed that you will not depart from the Grampians without encountering a kangaroo.
Sometimes, we have the opportunity to see echidnas and wallabies. It is important to note that feeding wild animals is prohibited, but don’t forget to have a fully charged camera battery!
Return to Melbourne
At some point, we will need to return to the city. The journey from the Grampians takes about 3 hours, and there is a stop along the way where you can buy dinner (at your own expense).
After a day of exploring, take some time to relax and think. Upon arrival in Melbourne at approximately 8.30 pm, you will be dropped off at your original pickup location or near public transportation.
